Over a series of tastemaker-supported releases and standout collaborations, North London-based act Deuce & Charger have emerged as a fresh new sound in vocal drum and bass. The duo’s combination of emotive melodies and electro inspired production described by Radio 1’s Rene LaVice as “very different, very unique - it’s cool!”

The lead track on Deuce & Charger’s new single, ‘Natural High’, captivates immediately. An evocative piano intro builds to a stunning, soul-baring vocal, with reflective lyrics yearning for an escape from the pressures of modern life. Layers of analogue synths rise over a filtered drum break before the track soars in the drop; a euphoric vocal hook gliding over synth arpeggios and driving bass.

‘Frozen’ explores an altogether darker soundscape. Glassy synth lines crystallise around an icy lead vocal to create a sparse, haunting verse. A snare crack sets off an avalanche of bass in the drop; Deuce & Charger’s trademark synth work flurrying around crisp, punchy drums.
‘Natural High’ / ‘Frozen’ follows a massive summer for Deuce & Charger with their sun-drenched Subsphere Records single ‘A Simple Twist Of Fate’ being premiered on Radio 1 and supported by DJ Mag, Bassrush and Most Addictive. The duo also featured on huge summer compilations from Technique Recordings and Mayan Audio, while their collaboration with Toronto Is Broken (Viper Recordings) received widespread support from A-list DJs including Matrix & Futurebound.
With previous releases on Liquicity and Viper, Deuce & Charger continue to rise from the underground of the scene. The duo’s idiosyncratic, song-led style fits perfectly with Subsphere Records who have worked with some of the best and brightest names in drum and bass since 2011, including Feint, Stan SB (Fox Stevenson), Keeno, Whiney, Moleman, Indivision, Veela, Phase and more.

Deuce & Charger have been playlisted on 1Xtra, played on Radio 1 (Friction and Rene LaVice) and Kiss Fresh (Andi Durrant), featured in Mixmag and DJ Mag, and championed by leading blogs, radio stations and channels including YourEDM.com, Rough Tempo, Kool FM, Magnetic Magazine, Drum & Bass HQ and Skank & Bass. The duo have also taken their unique live vocal/DJ set to the huge Let It Roll summer festival and been remixed by Dossa & Locuzzed (Viper), Chords (Ram Records) and Kronology (Technique).
