Logistics, one of Hospital Records’ most prolific artists, is back with his seventh studio album ‘Hologram’. Inspired by his travels to Hong-Kong and New Zealand, this universally admired drum & bass figure presents a vibrant 16-track collection soaked in his signature groove, soul and liquid-funk stylings.
Opening track ‘Lotus Flower’ sets a warm springtime tone with fluttering harp-like arpeggios and atmospheric pads. ‘Broken Light’ follows on from the success that singer/songwriter Thomas Oliver brought on Logistics’ collaborative LP with brother Nu:Tone. A sombre tone matched with melancholic lyrics bring a blissful beat to the album.
Keeping true to the craft, ‘Chant’ flips to Logistics’ jungle style with molten-hot flair. A powerful punch of expertly sliced breaks and vocal stabs are the ingredients for this dancefloor weapon.
It’s safe to say that this has been worth the wait. Although titled from the ever-growing illusion of the digital-age, ‘Hologram’ is an example of Logistics’ very real talent and is a welcomed addition to his impressive repertoire of drum & bass classics. Quantity, quality and a fierce musical character is everything we have come to expect from this Hospital staple.

Bensley - 'Ascension'
Bensley - 'Ascension'
Bensley’s ‘Ascension’ opens yet another door for the Ram Records producer’s coveted story. It started with an online demo being passed along to the imprint’s head Andy C and his debut single being showcased on Zane Lowe’s primetime BBC Radio 1 slot. The newcomer’s debut LP ‘Next Generation’ was soon to follow, and was met with critical acclamation throughout both press and radio. Bensley’s namesake has only grown, with the producer becoming a pinnacle part of leftfield DJ sets and symbolising the next generation of the Ram Records roster.
On his forthcoming single, Bensley aims to further broaden his creative repertoire as he explores yet another avenue unheard by his fans: strictly dancefloor. In terms of its production, ‘Ascension’ highlights an incredibly hardwired sound design which can be heard right through to the track’s skeleton. Touching on themes of constant build and suspense, the track pulls you down on a much darker journey to those that Bensley might usually lead you. Whilst drawing from his already solid foundation in musical engineering, ‘Ascension’ unveils a new dimension to Bensley’s identity.
With another digital single adding to a discography which stands strong with his more longstanding predecessors, Bensley returns alongside a refreshing take on his original moniker.

Crisis Era - Make Me Bounce [Official Music Video]
Crisis Era - Connections EP including 'Make Me Bounce' is out now on Barong Family

‘We’ve gone out of our way to make sure that our first release on Barong Family is a statement of who we are as artists, down to the hand-painted cover art. Blood, sweat and tears went into this baby, and we’re grateful to Yellow Claw and the label for believing in us and encouraging us to be ourselves. It’s all you can ask for.’ – Crisis Era
Crisis Era make their official Barong Family debut after delivering not one, but two succesful Yellow Claw remixes in 2017. After giving ‘City on Lockdown’ and then ‘Do You Like Bass?’ the Crisis Era treatment and experimenting with their sound throughout the year, the Vancouver duo found themselves feeling increasingly at home at YC’s label. The four-track No Filter EP Vol. 1 is perfectly balanced by the familiar and the new, with both sides of the equation informed by the Canadians’ wild and carefree nature. ‘Drop it Low’ and ‘Make Me Bounce’, are trademark Crisis Era: fun party tracks with menacing bass and an almost cinematic production sheen. Featuring the Australian rapper Chatta, ‘Untouchable’ sees the duo messing with trap music and getting involved in some serious vocal and beat manipulation before crossing over to the other end of the spectrum on the Mike Cervello collaboration ‘Oldschool Sound’. It’s the sound of today’s experiment walking back thirty years of house music history before taking another leap forward.
