Bensley - 'Kilauea'

Bensley

'Kilauea'

Acclaimed Canadian musician Bensley returns with the explosive single ‘Kilauea’ released on 19 April, ahead of his eagerly awaited sophomore album ‘Muskoka’ out on RAM Records in July - the follow up to his ground-breaking album ‘Next Generation’.

‘Kilauea’ is the perfect taster for what listeners can expect from Bensley’s second album, ‘Muskoka’, ahead of its release on RAM Records and cements his status as one of the most exciting, innovative producers around.

Named after Hawaii’s most active volcano, ‘Kilauea’ cleverly evokes images of exotic island scenery using ukulele and lap steel guitar samples alongside the sound of island birds and crashing surf. An atmospheric cut that builds to a powerful crescendo, ‘Kilauea’ is a dancefloor shaker that takes the listener on an immersive journey.

The twelve-track album ‘Muskoka’ was primarily composed whilst Bensley was at his family’s lakeside cottage in Muskoka, Canada. Here is where he has spent every summer of his life. As Bensley says: “Muskoka has hugely shaped the person I am today. The breath-taking wildlife, forests and lakes provide an endless source of inspiration and make Muskoka not only my favourite place to write music, but my favourite place to be.”

Bensley’s forthcoming album ‘Muskoka’ will be released on RAM Records on vinyl and digitally in summer 2019.

Bensley’s 2015 debut album ‘Next Generation’ won him widespread acclaim, including from leading selectors Zane Lowe, MistaJam, Friction, Zeds Dead and DJ Fresh. This debut was followed by celebrated singles such as ‘Outsider’, ‘Tiptoe’ and ‘Slither’, and official remixes for the likes of Flux Pavilion, Azari & III, and Camo & Krooked
