This wasn't just a win for Major Lazer.... Major Lazer closing the 2026 Olympics was a win for Electronic music period! As a global EDM blogger my feed was elated to see this and the win was felt deeply throughout the scene and electronic community that has advocated for electronic music over the past 30+ years. Our scene was considered to be the misfits. Outsiders unwelcome, but that is no longer. The Olympics recognizing breaking legitimizing the dance as a competitive game was the initial step in France. How far we have come with peace, unity & respect! This is a beautiful moment within the culture. We stand for something different here. We stand in unity through music.Congrats to Major Lazer and all involved. Electric!
