Born Scott Friedel June 24th , 1969. Later to become one third of the "HARDKISS BROTHERS" AKA "DRAMABOY, GOD WITHIN, NEXT SCHOOL, TREE OF HEARTS" No matter the name you knew him by , Scott was best known for the tracks he laid down! Technicolor Dreamer released on GOD WITHIN RECORDINGS IN 2009. There are too many great tracks to name them all! The Hardkiss Brothers are a large part of the foundation and progression of Electronic Music within the United States and abroad.
Educated and respected in the world of electronic music. Scott was upbeat (pardon the pun), approaching life with optimism and comical reinforcement! With a heavy heart I write this article today ....The last photo he shared on Facebook haunts me ... When Scott updated his profile with the picture above of the lone rider watching the surf surrounded by soaring gulls... I immediately wanted to paint it! I had no idea this was the last picture he would share with us! I will indeed paint this photo!
Time waits for no man! Scott took the evolution of electronic music in stride. Scott would joke playfully in regard to the changes music has made but he never came off as cynical , or angry as some producers have become. I never was able to catch the "Hardkiss Brothers" live when he was here.
Did Scott somehow know his time was coming to an end? I recall the eerie post he made March 15th 2013 , Scott referred to the Shakespeare play in regard to " THE IDES OF MARCH" proclaiming Ceasers death. A haunting coincidence ? For many of you reading this , you probably recall your fondest memory of him playing a venue and laying down the law! If you were able to see him , meet him , learn from him. You have been blessed with a gift that time restrained. Use it!
To respect Scott Hardkiss in death is to never let him die! Share his music , re rub the sounds , share his wisdom! Life is but a music box, The lid is only open for the music to play, when the music stops the lid is shut... No doubt the EDM world is reeling this morning. A tremendous loss.
