GRAMMY-nominated producer Mat Zo unveils ‘Petrushka’, the latest single from his recent album ‘Illusion Of Depth’.
‘Illusion Of Depth’, released last October, was a pick-n’-mix of styles. It begins with the brash ‘In Media Res’, next, an ode to 90’s warehouse techno: ‘The Next Chapter’ featuring legendary Jungle/DnB MC, GQ. Then, all of a sudden, ‘Love Songs’ and some French filter house. And now, ‘Petrushka’, which sees Zo revisit his trance music roots.
Mat Zo broke onto the scene in 2008 and has been causing an uproar ever since. In the early 00’s, he penned Anjunabeats classics like ‘The Lost’ and ‘Synapse Dynamics’ which were far ahead of their time. They were followed by the likes of ‘Superman’, ‘The Sky’, and ‘Rebound’ (with Arty). He pushed the Anjunabeats sound to the mainstage, racking up spins from Pete Tong, Axwell, and Armin van Buuren.
It was his GRAMMY-nominated debut album ‘Damage Control’ that fully showcased Mat’s avant-garde approach in 2013. Featuring break-out hit ‘Easy’ with close friend Porter Robinson, the track took Mat mainstream: a Radio 1 A-List addition, Sirius XM BPM listing, a #1 Billboard Heatseeking record, an Essential Mix of the year nomination, and, ultimately, a GRAMMY nom for the best electronic album.
Since the album’s release, Mat has taken his ‘Illusion of Depth’ tour online, hosting a series of virtual raves in Minecraft with support from up-and-comers like Olan, Qrion, Fatum, Nox Vahn and David West.

Andrew Bayer & Genix present their debut original collaboration, ‘The Test’, which was first heard on Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats Volume 15 compilation.
Never one to be pinned down by genre, Andrew Bayer has produced some of our label’s finest works, including ‘From The Earth’, ‘Superhuman’, ‘Signs Of The Fall’ and ‘Open End Resource’.
‘The Test’ is Bayer’s third Anjuna collaboration of the year, following ‘Black & Blue’ with ilan Bluestone, and ‘The Launch’ with Cosmic Gate. He’s been locked in his studio working on new original material, but found some time to create a ‘20 Years Of Anjunabeats’ mix, featuring some of his favourite selections from the label’s history.
A year on from the release of Anjunabeats Worldwide 09, Damion Houchen, aka Genix, has cemented his place at the forefront of modern tech-trance. He released ‘The Light’ with Grum in the summer, and has been a regular fixture on Anjuna’s live streaming schedule. 2021 will be another big year for Damion, with much more new music on the horizon.

‘The Test’ isn’t the first time Andrew and Damion have joined forces - they teamed up for a club mix of ‘Love You More’ (from Andrew’s third studio album ‘In My Last Life’) in 2018.
