Solomun - Home (Official Video)

In every place, music can find a home. But in order to really experience music, you have to actually go to rooms that were especially designed for it. In those sacred rooms, music can actually get to people. And the desire for it has never been greater. The desire to feel it, experience it, hear it, to share it with people. HOME reminds us of these moments. Of the things we miss.
HOME is the first single of the new album by Hamburg DJ and producer Solomun, which will be released in early 2021. Stream/Download "Home" by Solomun on all platforms here: https://solomun.lnk.to/Home
Solomun: "HOME was the starting point for the idea of an album in the first place. I had plenty opportunities to play it and for me it has withstood the test of time. It was evident that this had to be the first single for the album."

Takuya Kuroda is a highly-respected trumpeter born in Kobe, Japan, Takuya is a forward-thinking musician that has developed a unique hybrid sound, blending soulful jazz, funk, post-bop, fusion and hip hop music.
After following the footsteps of his trombonist brother playing in big bands, he relocated to New York to study jazz & contemporary music at The New School in Union Square; a course he graduated from in the mid-noughties. It was here that Takuya met vocalist José James, with whom he worked on the 'Blackmagic' and 'No Beginning No End' projects.
Following graduation, Takuya established himself further in the NYC jazz scene, performing with the likes of Akoya Afrobeat and in recent years with DJ Premier's BADDER band (also including acclaimed bass player, Brady Watt). Premier said "The BADDER Band project was put together by my manager, and an agent I've known since the beginning of my Gang Starr career. He said, 'What if you put a band together that revolved around a trumpet player from Japan named Takuya Kuroda? He's got a hip-hop perspective and respect in the jazz field…"
Takuya Kuroda is already incredibly prolific, releasing five albums in the past decade and fortifying a solid reputation in the global jazz scene. 2011 saw the release of Takuya's independently-produced debut album, 'Edge', followed by 'Bitter and High' the following year and 'Six Aces' on P-Vine in 2013. Takuya was signed to the legendary Blue Note Records in 2014 for his album 'Rising Son', as well as appearing on their 2019 cover versions project, 'Blue Note Voyage'. He released his 5th album 'Zigzagger' on Concord in 2016, which also featured Antibalas on a reimagining of the Donald Byrd classic 'Think Twice'.
Late Summer 2020, Takuya Kuroda returns with his sixth album 'Fly Moon Die Soon'.
In his words, "this album is about the irony between the greatness of nature and the beautiful obsceneness of humanity. Melodies and grooves fly back and forth from being spiritual to being vulgar."

John W. Bowman, Jr., better known by his stage name DJ Kool is an American rapper who, in the late 1990s, produced several popular rap singles. Born in 1959
in Washington, D.C., his influence from his years of working the go-go and rap circuits became apparent in his music. During the early- to mid-1980s, Kool
worked as a warm-up DJ for Rare Essence, until he was picked up by CLR Records.
In 1996, he recorded his most successful track, "Let Me Clear My Throat," which was released on American Recordings. The track peaked at #8 in the UK Singles
Chart in March 1997. The song prominently featured a sample of "The 900 Number" by DJ Mark the 45 King, (that song featured a sample from Marva Whitney's
"Unwind Yourself", repeated over a breakbeat for six minutes). The song also began by sampling "Hollywood Swinging" by Kool and the Gang. The song is a
recognizable dance floor-filler, and the track remains popular to this day. DJ Kool was featured on Mýa's 2006 single "Ayo!" from her 2008 album Liberation.
He was also featured on two tracks on Will Smith's 2005 album Lost and Found.

Doug E. Fresh and the Get Fresh Crew - The Show HQ !! Edit Remastered by...
Douglas E. Davis (born September 17, 1966), better known by the stage
name Doug E. Fresh, is an American rapper, record producer,
and beat boxer, also known as the Human Beat Box. One of the earliest
pioneers of beatboxing, Fresh is able to accurately imitate drum
machines and various special effects using only his mouth, lips, gums,
throat, and a microphone.
Although he began his recording career as a solo artist as one of the
last artists on Enjoy Records and one of the first on Vintertainment
Records (the same New York-based label owned by Vincent Davis that would
later make a name of Hip-Hop artist Joeski Love and bring R&B icon
Keith Sweat to ultimate fame), it was when he and a new team of DJs
known as the Get Fresh Crew (Barry Bee and Chill Will) along with a
newcomer named MC Ricky D (who would later achieve fame as Slick Rick)
came to fledgling New Jersey-based Hip-Hop label Danya/Reality Records
the following year and recorded "The Show" (which borrowed the melody of
the Inspector Gadget theme by Shuki Levy), and "La Di Da Di", a tune
that was completely voiced by MC Ricky D and backed by Doug E's beat
boxing for the entire duration of the song. It was when both of these
songs were released on a single (particularly 12" single) that broke him
(and Slick Rick) into stardom. Both "The Show" and "La-Di-Da-Di" are
considered two of the all-time greatest
early hip hop classics and, as such, make up one of the first and only
Hip-Hop singles to have two hit songs on the same record.
