In sonic solitude, Arc have been creating a ground-breaking LP which signifies just how imperative they’re about to become within the vast sound spectrum of dance music. Both Tetsu Gomorrah and Charlie Howell have decorated palettes when it comes to their influences, something which oozes throughout each one of their slick, imaginative deliveries. Whether it’s trip-hop, future garage or neo soul, they’ve spent years pouring over records to create a cross-pollination of genres which has resulted in a package of sultry beats and rich searing basslines.

Both Tetsu Gomorrah and Charlie Howell have decorated palettes when it comes to their influences, something which oozes throughout each one of their slick, imaginative deliveries. Whether it’s trip-hop, future garage or neo soul, they’ve spent years pouring over records to create a cross-pollination of genres which has resulted in a package of sultry beats and rich, searing basslines.

‘Cough’ once again features Emma Wizz with the trio presenting a bass and beat heavy trip hop track fused with a deliciously hypnotic chant français. This slice of sexiness follows the runaway success of ‘Down’, which received support on tastemaker Your EDM. Both heavily reminiscent of old Massive Attack and Portishead, as well as a little Sade thrown in for good measure, it twists into its own little je ne sais quoi! In a world of day trippers and imitators you can feel the authenticity ooze from these tracks, straight from their hearts and into your soul.

The record mixes its lighter and darker elements, and this is something which builds into a signature for Arc - which will gradually be revealed as the release date for ‘An Evening with Loss’ draws closer.

Rhymestar adds his vocals to this garage-reminiscent cut, one which constantly switches genre's through the static radio interference on its journey through dance music history. It's one which nods to the pirate radio stations which cultivated the influences of Insideinfo, from his origins as a pirate radio DJ. It pays homage to his diverse background, not just within the drum & bass world but one which also stretches further across other subgenres of dance music too.
