Bavarian DJ duo Drunken Masters have created the official soundtrack to your next riot, global takeover or "Thug Life" meme involving a cheeky robot. "We Run the Streets" is a repeatable, catchy blade of a track that splices its enemy in 120fps slow motion.
Norman Quentin Cook, also known by his stage name Fatboy Slim, is an English DJ, musician and record producer/mixer. As a solo electronic act, he has won ten MTV Video Music Awards and two Brit Awards. His records as Fatboy Slim also helped to popularize the big beat genre, which achieved mainstream popularity in the 1990s.
Cook adopted the Fatboy Slim moniker in 1996 and released Better Living Through Chemistry to critical acclaim. Follow-ups You've Come a Long Way, Baby; Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars; and Palookaville, as well as their associated singles, including "The Rockafeller Skank"; "Praise You"; "Right Here, Right Now"; "Weapon of Choice"; and "Wonderful Night", were also met with positive reviews and commercial success.
Program continues its hunt for the freshest new talent in underground drum and bass with their newest release from the creative minds of Slovakian duo The Prophecy, made up of long time collaborators and up and coming producers M.Bass and Ero Drummer. Dedicated to music production since his early teenage years, M.Bass experimented with trance and dubstep before finding his calling in drum and bass. His production partner since 2013, Ero Drummer, matches their explosive neuro style with his four deck mixes, which explains their status as regulars in the Eastern European dnb scene. The Prophecy are looking to emerge as a dynamic production force to match. Having supported the likes of Calyx and Teebee, Logistics, DC Breaks, June Miller and Prolix, they’re regulars at dnb mecca Let It Roll and will continue their ascent following this release on Program.
Having first appeared on Ram’s radar with their track Gale on Ram Records Annual 2017, they have once again recruited the aid of fellow Slovak Changing Faces and highly regarded vocalist Charlie Brix for the A Side of their debut Program release. Despite being known for their ferocious productions, Winter Sunrise shows off the pair’s versatility with a smooth liquid roller, featuring soft melodic synths, crisp snares and vocals which deliver shivers even in the summer’s heat. The tune is an amalgamation of every talent involved, it also stands as a warning that The Prophecy should not be pigeonholed, capable of delivering the variety of underground beats Program is well regarded for.
On the flip side is Lost Signal, with a siren-like build up, warning that the duo have something very different in store. When it drops, the track immediately confirms why they have built up their reputation as neuro specialists, with aggressive, uncompromising synths and powerful drum loops followed by a dark break down. The tune would be right at home in the darkest, hardest-hitting sets, helping to explain why the duo have had interest from some of the scene’s most prolific artists.
For their debut on Program, The Prophecy have not disappointed, demonstrating the hunger of rising stars but also the variety of a storied veteran… Their future success seems almost foretold. So once again, it’s time to get with the Program.
Since releasing his last full-length LP S.P.Y has filled mountains of hard-drives with sketches, VIPs, bootlegs and tear-out weapons for his regular top spots on drum & bass line-ups across the world. With a clear vision ahead, he’s selected the best of the bunch for a triple hit of ‘Alone In The Dark’ EPs. The second chapter, ‘EP:2’ is a flawless unfolding of his genius that once again cements S.P.Y as a leading member of the Hospital Records roster.
Opening with pure S.P.Y production is ‘Termination’, an eerie tale through slow build-ups and that thick, menacing S.P.Y sub buzz. A trickling lead piano matches up with old-school powerhouse vocals in ‘Get Up’. Then there's ‘Shadow Play’ that reaches for more of that definitive dancefloor aggression, sure to draw out crowds from every corner.
On the flip side there's ‘Cold Wave’ that brings a techy tornado bassline, a metallic snare and siren synths. Joining S.P.Y’s mission is Inja with his quick-fire lyricism on ‘Mind Over Matter’, made for mind-warping straight into the darker hours.
S.P.Y is hitting 2017 with serious impact, already the aptly named ‘producer’s producer’ has dived in with Beatport chart-topping tracks like ‘Alone In The Dark’ and the Mixmag supported ‘Soldiers’.
