LOLA LENNOX RELEASES HIGHLY ANTICIPATED DEBUT EP, DREAMER, AND BRAND NEW SINGLE “DREAMER” OUT TODAY

FOLLOWS LOLA'S FIRST UK 2023 LIVE PERFORMANCE ALONGSIDE ROGER DALTREY FOR TEENAGE CANCER TRUST AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL

Lola Lennox’s Dreamer EPis produced by Braeden Wright and executively produced by Annie Lennox, features five songs written and performed by Lola. Vibrant upbeat, and catchy, while also showcasing more reflective and melancholic moments, the Dreamer EP sees Lola wears her heart on her sleeve, as she draws the listener into her world with her soaring vocals and catchy melodic songwriting.

Lola says:
I called this EP Dreamer because I wouldn’t be who I am today without dreaming. Being a dreamer showed me my heart's desire and gave my life vision and purpose. The word perfectly encapsulates every song on the EP because they were created from the seed of a dream, from a wistful moment where I lose track of the literal world and connect to something transcendent. I am very excited to share this body of work, each song captures a moment in my life, and together they portray a story of me, a broader sense of my experiences and reactions. Making the music on this EP has been some of the best times of my life, it has been so rewarding to see my ideas come to life, to be challenged and to grow, and finally, to share my work with others.

The “Dreamer” single is an uplifting yet contemplative song that looks back on Lola’s younger self and how her dreams have shaped her life over the years. Reverberating with exciting and shimmering tones, it juxtaposes infectious melodies and driving rhythms with nostalgic lyrics, melancholic chords and oscillating strings. It packs a classic pop anthem punch, that draws you in into Lola’s world of memories and dreams for the future.

It follows the release of Lola’s critically acclaimed singles “Back At Wrong”, (which featured on Radio 2’s A playlist), “La La Love Me” (which entered the Top 10 of the UK Radio Airplay Charts), “Wherever You Go” (most played record on Radio 2 in January 2021),  “Love Like That” and “Want More”.

The accompanying music video for “Dreamer”, was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Alexis Gudino (Jennifer Lopez, Annie Lennox, Marc Anthony). A homage to how young and innocent aspirations can turn into reality, and how the seed of a dream can bloom, the video opens with Lola singing at the piano. As it evolves, we are invited to look back on memories captured through photographs and home video recordings of Lola’s life, witnessing the chapters of Lola’s years, from dancing in the kitchen as a child in the 90s through to playing her first live shows in her twenties.

Lola’s Dreamer EP features a brand-new song, “Hourglass”, a heart aching balled written, recorded and produced alongside Eg White (Adele, Sam Smith, Florence and The Machine) in his London studio, which reflects on a dismantling love and questions why love and pain can be so inextricably linked. Other songs on the EP include Lola’s previously released critically acclaimed singles “Want More”Love Like That”, and “Wherever You Go”.

Lola performed tracks from her Dreamer EP live for the first time in the UK during A Special Gala Evening of Music with Roger Daltrey and Friends of Teenage Cancer Trust on 26th March alongside two-time Ivor Novello winner Richard AshcroftFar From Saints and Joan Armatrading. Lola joined UnderworldWet LegJake BuggCourteeners and Kasabian for the historic annual Royal Albert Hall concert series to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust charity.

Music has been in Lola’s blood from as long as she can remember. She has played the piano and sung from seven years old, written songs from the age of fifteen, and earned a place at the Royal Academy of Music as a vocal undergrad. 2020 saw Lola duet with her mother, Annie Lennox, for their much talked about mid-pandemic performance of “There Must Be An Angel” for Global Citizen One World: Together At Home" to an audience of over 270 million viewers. While in 2019 she collaborated with Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory on the soundtrack for the “Serengeti” docu-series, which was narrated by Oscar winning actress Lupita Nyong’o and aired in over 35 countries around the world (including the UK on BBC and the U.S. on Discover Network).

Lola has been earmarked as an artist to watch by everyone from The Sunday TimesMusic Week
